The Practice of Deep Rest

Yoga nidra is a guided practice of conscious rest — a structured descent into the threshold between waking and sleeping where the body restores, the nervous system quiets, and awareness opens into something wider than ordinary attention allows. You don't need to be flexible. You don't need experience. You lie down, you listen, and the practice meets you where you are.

Stillness Unbound brings yoga nidra out of the studio and into relationship with the living landscape of Downeast Maine — on the ground, under open sky, inside the sensory field of a specific place at a specific moment. When the practice happens in the world rather than apart from it, something shifts. The rest deepens. The body remembers what it already knows.

Wild Yoga Nidra: What the Water Leaves

Four evenings timed to the convergence of low tide and sunset. June 5 · July 19 · August 17 · September 29 Curtis Cove · Donation-based · All are welcome

As the water pulls back, granite shaped over five hundred million years is uncovered. As the light goes, something quieter comes forward. Each session draws on the ecology of the moment and weaves it into a practice of deep rest, attunement, and release.

"Rest is not the reward you earn after breaking down. It is the ground from which resilience grows."
